About Emma M. Smith

I'm a clinician, policy advisor, researcher, and educator, in the fields of assistive technology, disability, and rehabilitation. I'm passionate about global access to technologies and services which enhance independence and participation for all. My current projects include clinical trials for novel and emerging technologies, assistive technology and disability related policy analysis, and the development of research and clinical collaborations at the regional and international level. Collaborations and affiliations include: School of Allied Health, University of Limerick Assisting Living and Learning Institute, Maynooth University Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy, University of British Columbia Global Cooperation on Assistive Technology (GATE) Initiative, World Health Organization I am a Fellow of the Rehabilitation Engineering and Assistive Technology Society of North America (RESNA), and sit on the Board of Directors of the Association for the Advancement of Assistive Technology in Europe
