About Emma McComb

I am a member of National College of Vocational Education's Executive team together with the Managing Director and Training Director. My role within the organisation is to manage our International School operations as well as being responsible for Marketing and Communications, Human Resources, Business Development and Contracts across the organisation. We are a family-owned and operated Registered Training Organisation (RTO 90283) and Commonwealth Registered Institute for Overseas Students (CRICOS provider 03686G) that prides itself on providing quality individualised training for all our students, both domestic and international. Previously, I have worked as an Intellectual Property professional across a variety of different industries including Education and Training, Aviation and Aerospace, Defence, Biotechnology and Biomedical science. I have 15 years experience in Contract management, IP management, due diligence, patent and prior art searching, contract and licence negotiation, contract dispute negotiation, policy and process development, business development and management, commercialisation and education and training personnel in business and intellectual property. I have a Medicinal Chemistry (Hons) degree from the University of Wollongong and a PhD from the University of Queensland where I studied the structural and functional characterisation of alpha-conotoxins. This was a multi-disciplinary project across a number of scientific areas (medicinal chemistry, structural biology, physiology and pharmacology and biochemistry) giving me a broad scientific background. I have also completed a Masters of Industrial Property Law from the University of Technology, Sydney and I was a registered Patent and Trademark Attorney for 9 years between 2008 and 2017.
