Background
About Emma Morrone
Emma Morrone, attended Oklahoma State University and received her B.S. in Psychology. She completed her M.A. in Counseling Psychology at Texas Woman’s University. During her time as an undergraduate student, Emma worked as a research assistant in a lab looking at suicide risk and health disparities. She later went on to work on a research team looking at the impact that COVID-19 had on single mothers’ throughout graduate school. Emma decided to work in mental health after experiencing first-hand the impact of being provided with a safe and welcoming environment on an individual's personal development and self-worth. Emma completed the first half of her clinical internship at University Behavioral Health Hospital working with individuals who had previously been diagnosed with Dissociative Identity Disorder. She completed the second half of her clinical internship at Denton County Friends of the Family where she gained experience working with adolescents and adults, which included individual, couples, family, and group counseling. Emma has immense experience working with trauma, anxiety, domestic violence, sexual assault, self-harm, self-worth, self-image, suicidal ideation, and life transitions. Emma specializes in Neurofeedback at Heritage Counseling, Dallas location providing services to ages six and up. Neurofeedback is a science-based intervention that offers immediate feedback to the brain using computer-based software that assesses brainwave activity to help the brain function more efficiently—also known as EEG biofeedback. Neurofeedback can be highly beneficial for individuals struggling with ADHD, PTSD, Mood and Anxiety Disorders, Substance Use Disorders, Disordered Sleep, Learning Disorders, and Performance enhancement. During Neurofeedback, brain waves and neuronal networks are trained to increase state change flexibility. This teaches the brain to learn new and better functions, helping the client feel better and increasing self-regulation capability.
