About Emma Ruetz
I have always been passionate about working with English Language Learners and international students because of the unmatchable learning that can occur when we learn from each other. I have over 5 years of experience working with English Language Learners and international students from a diverse range of ages and backgrounds. Before becoming a teacher, I worked with international students at Wilfrid Laurier University for 3 years in various work and volunteer capacities. I also believe that the best learning is experiential learning. I have been lucky enough to complete an alternative practicum placement in Italy as well as attend the University of Hong Kong for a semester. The experiences I've had teaching, learning, and living abroad help me to better serve and connect with my students. A classroom in which everyone brings their unique cultures, languages, perspectives, experiences, and knowledge is rich with learning.
