Background
About Emma Simon
Emma Simon is a NYC-based actor, singer and theater educator. But most importantly, she’s a big ol’ clown. No really! She even went all the way to France to study under Philippe “The Tormentor” Gaulier. Buy her a glass of wine and a baguette and she’ll tell you all about it. Known for her physical comedy and total commitment to the “bit,” she has been described as “nothing short of hysterically funny” (Berkshire Bright Star) and also “not bad” (Philippe Gaulier). As a theatre educator, Emma has been facilitating actor training in NYC and across the Northeast since 2016. Her aim is to move at the speed of trust with students to create a brave space, while instilling a strong technical foundation in the craft of acting. For Emma, humor is the key that opens up a unique and powerful world of possibility for imagination, dialogue, and personal development. Currently, Emma is a faculty member in the Drama Department at The Brearley School in Manhattan, on the Education Committee for The Sharon Playhouse in Sharon, CT, and maintains her work as a freelance teaching artist and coach.
