THE BACKGROUND I identify as a versatile leader, a strong, creative voice, and a collaborative team member who is passionate about opportunities to support academic and purpose-driven organizations, cultivate quality academic experiences, and advance the recognition of artists and meaningful creations. I am an active part of Denver's poetry scene while serving my first year as a high school Spanish teacher in one of Denver's finest Science and Technology Schools. It is with pride that I dedicate my time to this founding school. I skillfully blend my academic background with research, art, writing and communications, photography, and bilingual strengths to create positive and transformative community impact. After graduating from Missouri State University with a degree in Spanish and Global Studies, I moved to Kansas City where I served one year with City Year at a Kansas City Public High School. While completing my year of service, I worked as a writing consultant and project manager for Your Exec Brand, a communication firm that aids executive professionals in marketing design and branding. As an influential professional, I eagerly take on new challenges and follow through with little direction. I vow to add value as an individual contributor with a strong work ethic while also positively impacting the effectiveness of a team environment through conversation and adaptation. I currently live in Denver with my partner. THE SNAPSHOTS - Served as the assistant to the Office Manager and Director of a nonprofit counseling center for +3 years. Maintained administrative organization, managed the daily calendar for 10-15 counselors meeting with new and existing clients, onboarded new clients, collected and processed, administered grants and financial aid to qualifying families, and drafted communication- Self-published selective writings, artwork, and photography on a personal blog and website: https://emmajanesullivan.squarespace.com - Gained Spanish fluency through university studies, immersive social experiences, and travels within South and Central America- Completed undergraduate research thesis for the Missouri State Honors College on political street art and graffiti in Santiago, Chile. Transformed in-country research in Chile into a documentary on the politically motivated street art culture in South America available on Vimeo- As a City Year AmeriCorps member in a Kansas City school with students representing +40 languages, navigated 10th-grade students through the 2020-21 academic year in the midst of pandemic-related complexity.
