About Emma Truffyn

PhD Candidate in Clinical Child & Adolescent Psychology at the University of Guelph, specializing in pediatric pain and needle fear management. I follow the scientist–practitioner model, combining research and clinical training to improve care and support the development, mental health, and well-being of children, adolescents, and families. As the National Trainee Representative for Pain in Child Health (PICH), I advance knowledge-sharing and trainee development across Canada’s pediatric pain research community. I have completed diverse clinical placements providing evidence-based, compassionate care to children, adolescents, and families. Supported by national funding (CIHR, OGS) and recognized through awards and invited presentations, I am committed to creating accessible, inclusive, and child-centered approaches to care.
