About Emma Woods

As a Senior Project Consultant with SLR Consulting New Zealand Ltd, I work within a team of marine and freshwater scientists to deliver ecological services for ecological surveys, compliance monitoring and environmental and regulatory advice. Within my primary role as a marine invertebrate taxonomist I collect samples, complete sample processing, analysis and quality control for marine deep-sea, continental shelf, coastal, estuarine, mangrove and freshwater projects. As a member of the SLR marine field team I have conducted compliance monitoring of benthic habitats, including benthic sediment sampling and video collection across nearshore, continental shelf and deep-sea marine habitats. I have also contributed to freshwater projects relating to water quality monitoring and wetland habitat remediation. I have a broad background in temperate and tropical marine, coastal and freshwater ecology, fisheries and aquaculture policy and conservation, across public and private organisations.
