About Emmanuel Amaechi

I am passionate about sustainability, cloud innovation and leadership. My work is centered on advancing national and global SDGs initiatives through innovative thinking and collaboration, while also leading social impact in my community. I currently serve as the Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) Canada Program Specialist at the University of Calgary, where I engage post-secondary institutions and knowledge organizations across Canada, North America and the world in advancing sustainability and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In this role, I lead high-impact sustainability initiatives, national events, strategic partnerships, and capacity-building programs that intersect with mental health, equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility (EDIA). I also contribute to major institutional projects through the Office of Institutional Commitments, University of Calgary. Prior to this, I worked as a Technology Support Assistant at the Werklund School of Education, where I led innovative projects that bridged technology gaps in education. Notably, I developed a podcast studio serving 500+ faculty members and students, improving digital engagement in education. A recognized thought leader, I am a Co-Chair of Catalyst Now (Education Collaboration & Nigerian Chapter) and actively contribute to global conversations on sustainability, having spoken at events such as: AFS Youth Assembly, New York (where I serve as an ambassador), Microsoft AI Tour, Toronto and Sustainability Forum, Mount Royal University. I provide mentorship and pitch advisory for: ENTI 201 & 317 (Entrepreneurship Courses) at Haskayne School of Business, University of Calgary and SEO Scholars Program in San Francisco, where I mentor high-achieving Black, Hispanic/Latinx, and Native American students through their college journey. Believing in the power of social impact, I co-founded: Green Naze – A program that brings STEM and environmental education to secondary schools and Street2School – An initiative providing quality education to over 70 out-of-school children in Nigeria, ensuring that no one is left behind in education. My work has also extended into business strategy, procurement transformation, and cost-saving initiatives, where I have directed key local and global projects valued at over I am always excited to leverage innovation for meaningful change and explore opportunities to collaborate, drive impact, and push the boundaries of sustainability, education, and technology.
