About Emmanuel Rafin

My career has been driven by 3 commitments: to progress in an international environment, to pursue a green path, to be at the interface between research and engineering on one side, and the market and public authorities on the other side. Today, I put these commitments in practice to accompany solid waste industry transition toward a digitally-connected, cost-effective, socially beneficial and environmentally friendly sector. My dream is to restore balance to the world as an ecosystem, where waste become a resource again! A solid waste consultant should master technical issues, have a cost-benefit approach and be open-minded and curious to forecast opportunities and anticipate market trends. But innovative technical projects are useless if they are not translated into understandable concepts. Empathy is the key. Seasoned in proposal development and having worked in diplomacy, I am use to interact smoothly at all levels and to convince private or public clients using marketing skills. As world waste generation rates will almost double by 2025, it is high-time to switch to a circular economy adopting a Zero Waste approach at all levels (municipal, commercial and industrial). My professional goal is to build solutions : to foster the intensification of the use of products and materials (Reuse), to industrialize the recycling sector so as to produce secondary raw materials to develop new recovery channels. In my opinion, organic waste management is a priority, as it is an efficient way to divert waste from landfill and to produce renewable energy.
