About Emmanuel Spence

With nine years of experience in the nonprofit sector, Emmanuel serves as the Principal Advisor - Inclusive Philanthropy for ALSAC, the fundraising and awareness arm of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. In his current role, Emmanuel leads national strategy to enhance diverse donor philanthropy. Prior to that role, Emmanuel supported the entire enterprise by providing lead generation strategy and business intelligence research through conducting detailed analysis of databases, research reports, academic journals, and more. Emmanuel has served in development roles at community-based organizations, including: United Way of the Mid-South, Neighborhood Christian Centers, Inc, Family Safety Center of Memphis and Shelby County, and Bridges, USA. As a graduate of New Memphis Institute and Leadership Memphis, Emmanuel honed his civic engagement skills and became a community change agent, taking his passion to serve into Memphis neighborhoods to bring about change and build from the ground up. He serves as an Advisory Board Member of GiVE365, an initiative of the Community Foundation of Greater Memphis, where he works to engage emerging philanthropist through impactful programing and community investments. He is a member of the Memphis Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi, American Prospect Research Association for Advancement, American Association of Fundraising Professionals, and The Memphis Church. His education includes a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Xavier University of Louisiana and a Master of Public Health from the University of Memphis.
