About Emmy Voltman

Building a more sustainable world through new (social) projects and businesses. That is what makes me tick. I unite people, ideas and means and support organizations in the set-up of projects in The Netherlands and Africa. I am an independent consultant and cooperate with partners in different projects and companies. I set up and co-managed several sustainable projects & social businesses in The Netherlands, East Africa (Kenya & Tanzania) and West Africa (Ghana & Senegal) and work(ed) on themes like ICT4D, Education, Agriculture, Social Entrepreneurship, Woman & Youth, Renewable Energy and Circular Economy. I am curious, open to new people and cultures, energetic, entrepreneurial, practical and like to achieve results. I am based in Amsterdam (The Netherlands) and on and off in Nairobi (Kenya). Prior to my current work, I served as a journalist for various Dutch broadcasting companies and magazines. My interest in Africa started years ago during a visit to Tanzania where I worked on a television programme concerning refugees. This first encounter with the African continent led to the start of my company Global Projects. I am also a volunteer PUM-expert, connected to their incubator initiative whereby the main focus is to reduce youth unemployment. We help start-ups to set-up an incubator, to run an incubator and we help start-ups to become established companies. My services: project development for start-ups, foundations, social businesses & SMEs, project coordination, institutional fundraising and partner management, research/feasibility.
