My name is Emy Santana, RN. I am an NSU alumni who graduated in Nov 2022 with a Bachelors Degree in Nursing. Prior to graduation, I was a PCT at Mount Sinai Medical Center in a telemetry unit. I learned skills such as chest tube monitoring, hemodynamics, and cardiac/pulmonary related diseases. After a year at Mount Sinai I became a nurse extern in the ED at Kendall HCA, where I improved my IV and Triage Skills. I have worked as a nurse in Kendall HCA Emergency Department since Feb 2023 and plan on continuing my education this following August, 2024 as an FNP student. Hello! I'm Emy Santana, RN, BSN, a dedicated healthcare professional driven by a passion for excellence in patient care. As a proud alumna of Nova Southeastern University, where I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Nursing in November 2022, I've embarked on a fulfilling journey in the medical field.My foundation was built as a Patient Care Technician at Mount Sinai Medical Center, where I honed crucial skills in telemetry, including chest tube monitoring, hemodynamics, and managing cardiac and pulmonary conditions. Transitioning to the Emergency Department at Kendall HCA as a Nurse Extern allowed me to further enhance my abilities in IV management and triage.Since February 2023, I've had the privilege of serving as a Nurse in the Trauma Level I Emergency Department at Kendall HCA. Here, I've been able to apply my knowledge and skills in real-time, making a tangible difference in patients' lives during critical moments.Currently, I'm pursuing my Master of Science in Nursing, driven by a commitment to continuous learning and professional growth. I'm excited about the opportunities ahead to expand my expertise and contribute further to the field of emergency nursing.
