About Enrico Bassi
I'm a designer, maker, professor, and innovation consultant with over ten years of experience in the maker movement and innovation projects. In 2011, I managed Italy's first Fab Labs (Fablab Italia), then FabLab Torino (thanks to Officine Arduino) and later Opendot. This experience has given me a chance to coordinate both teams of volunteers and professionals, working on meaningful social innovation projects as well as research and development initiatives. As an educator, I've taught at universities, participated in global programs like FabAcademy, and delivered various online training courses. I’m passionate about grassroots innovation and love promoting diversity, inclusion, and sustainability through community-driven solutions, especially in marginalized areas. I’m also proud to be a founding member of Fabcare.network and careables.org—both initiatives focused on creating assistive solutions alongside individuals with special needs. My love for diversity and intercultural openness has taken me to projects and events in over 35 countries, from the USA and Bhutan to Djibouti and Denmark.
