About Erhan Sinay

Erhan Sinay evolved in academic and applied research both locally and internationally more than 30 years. He has demonstrated excellent educational leadership competences at all levels of schooling locally, nationally and internationally. Currently, he is a Research Coordinator at the Toronto District School Board (TDSB) since 2004. He is an expert in EQAO assessments. He specialized in school effectiveness and improvement research focusing on 21st century teaching and learning fostering Global Competencies and Deeper Learning with Digital Technologies, STEM Pedagogy, Robotics, Coding, anti-oppression, anti-racism and decolonization research. Erhan has done comprehensive research in educational technology, innovation, creativity, leadership, educational inequality, programs of choice, Socio-economic status and educational attainment, educational stratification, assessment and evaluation, education production functions, and cost effectiveness analysis. Over the years he has done extensive studies in value-added multilevel and multi-dimensional school effectiveness research using Hierarchical Linear Modeling. He strongly advocates and works in “use-inspired research” in solving contemporary educational issues. He is also interested in understanding the effects of rapid changes in globalization and technologies in contemporary schooling, STEM education, alternative schooling outcomes, equity and School Effectiveness Research (SER) in general.
