About Eric Barba

My experience in IT is quite varied, between Windows Server administration to networking from a wide array of switches, though I started with Cisco Catalysts from my degree plan and put it to work at Nailor Industries by working to overhaul their core network, which involved VLAN configuration and helping break the network out to accommodate a growing environment. The title system administrator or network administrator has always come with multiple hats though, between server, network, wireless, VOIP, storage/SANs, virtualization with VMware, disaster recovery planning with backups through Veeam or Zerto, along with power and network redundancy as some of the general responsibilities I've held. One thing I do pride myself on is that even when working retail, I pushed myself from a part-timer to full-time, to a specialized role. That hasn't changed in the IT industry either, as I've worked my way up from desktop support to network administrator, and more recently a senior analyst to a NOC analyst. I'm always willing to take on a challenge or find a way to sort out a solution to whatever problem is presented, especially if there's an opportunity to learn. This mindset is what has carried me to where I am today, and helped establish a great number of personal relationships I've had with many coworkers I've been able to call friends now.
