Before my career as a developer, starting in a successful AGENDA*(Analytically Great Education, No Direct Applicability) degree, I excelled at seeing the logic behind class content. This led to success first as a philosophy TA, and then turned a part-time sales job into a management role in charge of training, development, and store operations. The ability to pick apart, structure, and convey information has been a core strength since. In management, I learned to further business needs, work with and lead a team, and perform in fast-paced environments. My communication skills broadened to the subjects of business, sales, and people. Life took a new direction in 2014 when I was struck with an injury to my neck and head. Things I had taken for granted (walking straight, thinking straight) now took much more effort. This became an opportunity to refine my strategies for accomplishing tasks and problem solving. In my personal life, I learned to become a more disciplined, resilient, and intentional person. Continuing as a manager until the company’s brandwide closure (a sombre but invaluable experience), I wanted to give back to those facing their own obstacles, and used my teaching skills to support young adults with special needs. In 2020, I finally put my injury behind me. My analytic skills were clear and stronger than ever, bolstered by the strategies I’ve developed and my work experience. Taking a cue from those I’ve helped succeed amidst difficulty, I committed myself to putting those skills to greater use and expanding my potential. My programming career began as a hobby and tool to sharpen my mind, but I have found my skills well suited to it. My love of logic has been a great help, as has my teaching experience. I believe my people and business skills help me be not just a useful member of any development team, but a business-savvy, team-oriented, downright pleasant one.
