Analyzes daily operational and financial reports to determine the store’s results and performance trends, and takes prompt corrective action to remedy significant variance. • Maintains a visible presence in the stores, personally greeting and interacting with customers to observe shopping behaviors and associate/customer experience. • Assists with the execution of store openings, store relocations, remodels and if necessary, store closures, to reinforce and support. • Resolves escalated store-related issues and concerns • Delivers timely communication through regular management and team meetings. Maximizes sales manager performance by setting targets, providing coaching and feedback and using support mechanisms such as performance improvement meetings. Takes corrective action when necessary. Creates an engaging, positive working environment and strong selling culture; recognizes and rewards top performers. Monitors controllable expenses such as utilities, maintenance, shrinkage and cash overage/shortage. Maintains high levels of knowledge on all products, promotions and store procedures. Promotes and builds community through active involvement in community functions and events, such as the Prince Hall Masons, Kappa Alpha Psi, Elks, Shriners or other local merchant or volunteer organizations. A strong understanding of consumers behavior, products and their positioning in the marketplace, as well as the processes and procedures in how the business is operated. Flexible willingly picks up projects on the fly as they come up. Performs other duties as assigned from time to time.
