About Eric Brooks
Dr. Brooks is a Physician Partner and the Chief Value Officer at Premier Radiation Oncology Associates. He trained at MD Anderson Cancer Center and Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center after earning his medical degree at Yale University. He also holds interest in health law and is a Law and Leadership Scholar to Case Western Reserve School of Law, JD program. Dr. Brooks also serves as a registered arbitrator with the American Health Law Association and holds a MSL in Business and Healthcare Law in addition to his Masters in Business Administration. Dr. Brooks specializes in lung, breast, head and neck, and lymphoma cancers and is passionate about providing the best care for his patients and their families. He has been formally recognized three times by his colleagues for excellence in patient care. Before joining Premier Associates as a Partner, Dr. Brooks served as the University of Florida Proton Therapy Institute's Chief Health Value Officer and Faculty Liaison for Operations as Assistant Professor. He also served as the center’s Director of Thoracic Disease as well as Co-Lead for the Breast Program. In addition to his primary focus of providing cutting-edge cancer treatment through his expertise and commitment to his patients, Dr. Brooks has also published more than 60 peer-reviewed articles, including in the Lancet, Nature, JAMA, and JCO family journals. He has been a plenary speaker at the American Society of Clinical Oncology meetings and has published society-endorsed guidelines on how to treat lung cancer patients when their tumors reoccur. His work is cited by the National Cancer Center Network (NCCN) guidelines in the management of lung and thoracic cancers. Dr. Brooks works on numerous clinical research, operational, marketing, and policy initiatives to drive care innovation and business development within multiple associations and systems. Dr. Brooks' background engenders the unique ability to creatively harmonize clinical compassion by 'putting the patient first' with optimal value achievement from the projects he leads or assists. He takes a data driven, team-based approach with robust aptitude to analyze complex sets of data, identify trends and quickly implement solutions to address clinical, operational, and strategic challenges while simultaneously applying sound patient prioritization goals and budgetary management. He holds degrees in statistics, business administration, and healthcare and business law in addition to his medical training and is currently earning his Juris Doctor (JD).
