About Eric Buck

Most of my patients come to me wanting more than just temporary symptomatic change. My patients and Supervisees have told me that they appreciate treatment of the entire person and to be sure I have a bio-psycho-social-spiritual approach that incorporates mindfulness, various perspectives, cultural differences, and sexual orientations. I am a psychotherapist/consultant/ supervisor with over 25 years experience as a behavioral health clinician, in private practice, and as a staff supervisor, trainer and administrator and counselor at a community mental health center. I have extensive backround in individual and family therapy, treatment for the full range of presenting conditions and circumstances, including the trauma -psychosis spectrum, abuse, crisis intervention and substance abuse. I am adept at working with ethnically diverse populations. As a diagnostician, I am adept at interviewing clients to accurately assess and determine their conditions and needs and devise effective treatment strategies. I have a working knowledge and experience in the full range of treatment modalities, including behavioral therapy, short term and long term contemporary psychodynamic psychotherapy, trauma focused Cognitive Therapy, CBT, DBT, Mindfulness, Psychoeducational Programs and other approaches. As an administrator and supervisor, I am proficient in case management, program oversight, and contract administration. As a collaberative team leader I foster consultees as a group and individually. I have developed a talent for hiring, training, supervising, providing performance evaluation and change management, guidance and motivation to professional and paraprofessional staff & contractors. I advise and assist colleagues in the analysis of cases and deveopment of treatment plans. I monitor progress and performance with empathy. I have worked at all levels of organizations in strategic planning, goal setting and operational coordination to optimize outcomes and results.
