Update: After 30 years of IT, I chose to seek adventure and left the technology sector. I pursued Scuba diving and became a PADI instructor, with service and repair of the equipment as a secondary focus. Educating new divers and using my hands to service equipment has been extremely rewarding for the last 3 years and I intend to continue doing so for year to come. As a life-long learner, I'm now seeking education that will be beneficial in our upcoming world travels such as HVAC maintenance and boat captain. The more trade skills I can acquire, the better I'll be able to assist the small towns we find as we circle the globe in search of our future. As a pragmatic, dedicated DBA/ETL developer and IT Leader, I am known for driving large-scale data migrations and building efficient customer-facing data systems for leading healthcare organizations. My ability to rapidly master new technologies and synthesize new information has enabled me to tackle and resolve critical technology challenges. Furthermore, I communicate up, down, and laterally very well. By developing short and long-term road maps, I have driven my teams to focus on key projects that propel the organization forward. I am also able to prioritize initiatives that align with core business areas. If you need a DBA, I can do that or I can contribute to building a DR/Business Continuity plan, or anything in between and surrounding those concepts. I can't read enough about DevOps and my knowledge in this area can further an organization’s DevOps capabilities. I should also say that I am person who is comfortable “distilling complex technical specifications into easily consumable business language" and "taking high level business strategies and translating them into actionable technical requirements." People refer to me as a natural leader, mentor, and consensus builder….I am all these things and more. Select highlights from my career include: Integral in transitioning an outsourced database platform back in-house; migrated from DB2 for reporting purposes. Continuously met 2-week Agile sprint goals and was the only member on the team to consistently attain 100% of all goals. Mentored ~20 on/offshore team members; trained new/junior staff in applicable software, policies, and best practices.
