I thoroughly enjoy helping people and solving problems, this includes sharing my three decades of experience in managing and resolving Environment, Health and Safety issues for large and small corporations. My experience - 20+ years in the entertainment industry, 7+ in aerospace, 8 in local government, and 10+ as an entrepreneur. My key areas of expertise include- EHS Management, leadership and integration - Risk analysis and mitigation - Organizational structure and effectiveness - Occupational Health and Safety - Production Safety - Sustainability and Environmental Affairs - BCP/BIA/CM - Community interactions - Public speaking At Sony Pictures, I lead the EHS team. This included all corporate and production EHS support globally, and meant administering and resolving challenges wherever they presented themselves in the world. Accomplishments include- Expanded production safety coverage globally - Sony Pictures Studios was the first movie studio in the world to be ISO14001 certified- Occupational safety risk management reduced workers compensation costs by 50% through injury prevention programs, including ergonomics. As an entrepreneur, I partnered with my wife, Andrea Busch, to start Electric Bikes LA in 2008. It is one of the most widely recognized electric and folding bicycle retailers in the US market. I also partnered with Drew Boyles to create HazAwayToday, the first household hazardous waste company dedicated to improving our environment one home and small business at a time. Serving as a locally elected city council member and as Mayor of El Segundo, I had the opportunity to lead a community with over 400 employees and a $110M+ budget – building consensus and addressing a wide range of community issues. This broad experience uniquely positions me to share a wide variety of skills which can solve problems quickly and efficiently at the corporate and business unit level.
