I am deeply committed to creating a sustainable food system that empowers farmers and provides consumers with high quality, environmentally sustainable, local and regional whole foods. I have a decade of experience in the natural foods industry, working daily with numerous vendors and farmers as a produce buyer for Whole Foods Market in Chapel Hill and a grocery buyer for GreenStar Food Co-op in Ithaca, NY. In the course of managing weekly purchasing budgets of up to I have been able to utilize my excellent quantitative and organizational skills to track movement of hundreds of items to maximize sales, reduce shrink, and provide the optimal product mix for our diverse customer base. I love working with and developing great relationships with local food vendors and farmers because I truly believe in creating a local and regional sustainable and just food system as the foundation for a transformative society.
