About Eric Cohen

Eric Cohen is office managing partner of Marcum’s Rockville, Maryland, office, and a member of the Firm’s Tax & Business Services group. Eric’s extensive experience resides primarily in tax research, planning, and compliance services to high-income individuals, C-corporations, and flow-through entities. He specializes in industries such as real estate, government contracting, nonprofit, wholesaling, and professional services. Prior to merging his practice into Marcum in December 2022, Eric was managing principal at E. Cohen and Company, CPAs, an award-winning, nationally ranked CPA firm he founded in 1991. At E. Cohen, Eric was named a member of the Top Ten 2019 Managing Partner Elite by Accounting Today and was thrice named one of the Washington, D.C. region’s Top Business Executives by SmartCPA Reader’s Choice (2007, 2011, 2012). Under his management, E. Cohen was recognized as an Accounting Today “Best Accounting Firm to Work” for 13 consecutive years, and as the No. 1 Best Firm for Women in the United States. He is also the founder of Impact Capital, LLC, a wealth management services firm, and ECC IT Solutions, LLC, a managed IT support services firm. He is a member of several professional organizations, including the Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants (MACPA), the Maryland Society of Accountants (MSA), the Greater Washington Society of Certified Public Accountants (GWSCPA), and the Virginia Society of Accountants.
