About Eric Drifmeyer

With 28+ years in law enforcement and project management, I bring a deep commitment to public safety, innovation, and officer wellness. At the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP), I lead national initiatives focused on training, mental health, and family wellness—most recently transitioning from managing the Elevate Blue project to overseeing DOJ-funded Officer Safety and Wellness programs. My academic foundation includes a Master’s in Criminal Justice from UMass Lowell, along with Graduate Certificates in Criminal Justice Leadership & Policy Development and Security Studies—equipping me with advanced skills in policy analysis, leadership, and national security. I served with the Barnstable Police Department for nearly three decades, progressing from Patrol Officer to Crime Analyst to Sergeant. My work spanned frontline policing, crime pattern analysis, and leading the Community Impact Unit, which focused on outreach to vulnerable populations. Beyond agency work, I’ve contributed to the profession through board roles with the International Association of Crime Analysts and the Massachusetts Association of Crime Analysts, where I led strategic planning, training development, and organizational operations.
