Background

About Eric Enrique Borja

I am a narrative strategist, organizer, and scholar focused on building community power through culture, storytelling, and digital innovation. Over the past decade, I have led multimillion-dollar digital campaigns, cultural mobilization campaigns, and narrative change initiatives that blend data, creative strategy, and grassroots organizing. My work has included launching and growing the Kairos Fellowship, directing national digital programs at Somos Votantes and Win Justice, and most recently serving as Director of Narrative at Equis, where I led initiatives that reached millions — from a Día de los Muertos cultural campaign to Wikipedia edit-a-thons that expanded Latino representation across English and Spanish Wikipedia. What ties my work together is a commitment to transforming research and cultural practice into strategies that empower communities, shape narratives of belonging, and drive collective action. In 2025, I returned to the PhD program in Sociology at The University of Texas at Austin to deepen my research into the intersections of technology, power, and collective identity — bridging theory and practice to advance both scholarship and real-world strategies for social and cultural change.
