About Eric Feunekes

Eric is a senior manager working in PwC’s Tax Transformation team, leading the DataOps team and data strategy for the Canadian tax line of service. Trained as a lawyer (and called to the Bar in Nova Scotia and Ontario), Eric’s legal practice has evolved from a focus on startups and technology, to cross border tax and M&A, and now to privacy and data security in his role as DataOps lead. Eric came to his role as data lead by developing the data strategy for the Tax business and subsequently the need for a team and platform for data engineering and orchestration. He developed the strategy and architecture for the new DataOps platform, created the data pipelines, and trained the new members of the DataOps team. Eric’s architecture, code, and team is now processing an average of more than 3 million records per minute. These pipelines are moving data from previously siloed systems into a data Lakehouse and developing additional applications directly on the Lakehouse, delivering data to the practice in seconds or minutes, rather than the hours or days it took before.
