About Eric Floch

I’ve worn many different hats throughout my career… I’ve been a Type Guru on a $100 million software project. I’ve co-written an award-winning gaming book. I’ve been a Jack-of-all-Trades on indie film and video projects; at one point or another I’ve been a Producer, Director, Writer, DP, Editor, Sound Editor, Camera Operator, Sound Recording Engineer and Grip. When it comes to low-budget film production, you name it and I’ve probably done it. I’ve done Product Management and UI Design on a small mobile project. I’ve pitched a VP a business plan to spin out a soon-to-be orphaned project so we wouldn’t alienate its passionate customer base. I’ve written HBR-style case studies breaking down and analyzing technical and business decisions on critical software projects. In short, I’m pretty versatile in terms of skills and interests, and I can turn my hand to just about anything. I love to work with creative people. I also love to get technical and fiddly. I play well with others. I don’t need the credit. I’m detail-oriented. I try to do things the right way the first time because it saves you time and money in the long run. On a film set, I know not to step on the cables. I love crafting a great sentence. Screenwriting is my favorite torture. In my down time, I play five sports decently well.
