About Eric Gardiner

I lead the Engagement and Partnerships team at the University of Melbourne’s Faculty of Fine Arts and Music. Located at the Southbank campus, in the heart of the Melbourne Arts Precinct, the Faculty is the home of the Victorian College of the Arts (VCA) and Melbourne Conservatorium of Music. Working within University Communications & Marketing, our team tickets and promotes 450-500 events at the University's Southbank and Parkville campuses each year, and enables the Faculty's partnerships with leading cultural institutions across Australia. Previously I was a playwright and independent theatre producer working in Melbourne in collaboration with companies such as Melbourne Theatre Company, Melbourne International Arts Festival, Don't Look Away, Red Stitch Actors Theatre, Darebin Arts and Theatre Works, and completed a Master of Writing for Performance at the VCA following undergraduate studies in journalism and creative writing at the University of Melbourne. Previous writing for theatre includes ‘Bounty’ (Darebin Arts) in 2015 and ‘Prayer Machine’ (Red Stitch Actors Theatre) in 2021. While studying I began working in theatre as a performer, writer, sound designer and composer at Union House Theatre.
