About Eric Grimm

I manage and analyze spatial and temporal data for the Office of Disease Prevention Services. I do work involving data mapping/visualization of infectious disease trends, text mining and natural language processing, time series forecasting, and extracting/transforming data using SQL. I am eager to expand my knowledge of techniques in these areas, particularly the application of machine learning methods for predicting health outcomes and more deeply understanding disease risk factors. Analytical methods that seek to make clinically applicable inferences from large amounts of structured and unstructured data are especially fascinating. In addition to performing data analyses, illustrating insights through data visualization is an important component of communicating results. I am interested in opportunities that would allow me to enhance my statistical and programming abilities in a context that contributes to the overall health and well-being of the population.
