About Eric Gunawan

Had a three years working experience as a Business and System Analyst in a small independent software vendor at Solo. Moved back to Yogyakarta and spent another year in a one of distinguished health diagnostic center. Got the first remote work as a Web Developer in a web development/design studio based in Bandung. Speak PHP as main language and started with CodeIgniter for a couple of projects. At this time and place, getting know with WordPress for the first time. And fall for it. Since then, have astounding experience with WordPress which include but not limited to- producing tons of premium themes - building premium plugins casually - handling technical and customer support - working custom development projects - creating custom client-based plugins - constructing custom themes from ready-to-convert HTML - applying and customizing selected themes and plugins to build functional sites Currently hold a position as a Happiness Engineer at Automattic, the people behind WordPress.com, WooCommere, Jetpack, and more. A distributed company who believe in Open Source and in making the web a better place. Eager to improve WordPress skill. But still open to learn other stable CMS, frameworks or even a new language. Believe that a well organized, structured and documented source code is a good investment. Like reading articles and tutorials with the topic spanning from WordPress, recent technology, front-end development and lately, customer support. Basically, devouring and trying to empty Feedly and Pocket. Always cherish working from home. Getting closer to the family. While saving the time formerly wasted on the home-office trip, to do other meaningful things. Such as house chores or play with beloved son.
