I like to solve tough problems and create best-in-class processes that positively impact the bottom line. In the automotive industry, this has led me to a career leveraging data analysis and product development. On the data side, I have created tools and processes to quantify product cost and profits at the part level, capable of scenario analysis and aggregating all the way to company-wide totals for strategic analysis and business planning. Attention to detail, quantifying opportunities and understanding core products and processes are key values of mine. Some projects include-Implementing a part-level cost and profit database to maximize profits, analyze customers, and strategic product trends -Created a dynamic individual costing tool for specific scenarios and analysis Implementing a plant financial performance bridge to pinpoint and quantify gaps in manufacturing performance -Created an industry-wide sales database to track opportunities, competitor information, and customer trends -Integrated an entire sales book from our European division into a BPC database and created a sustainable process used by the EU team On the product side, my passion is suspension design. A few years ago I was researching how adaptive damping works, which is commonly advertised as "dampers that adjust times per second". In doing the research into the magnetorheological fluid used in the dampers, I started to wonder why no one had solved adaptive springs. After all, springs are the #1 determinant of how a car rides, so why didn't automakers start there? Turns out, its a difficult problem to solve. So I grabbed my drawing board and angle grinder and a few prototypes later have a working proof of concept on my Mustang. It uses a modular system with aftermarket coilover to change from 180lbs/in to 700lbs/in in seconds. You can go from cruising Woodward to carving apexes with the turn of your hand. Patent granted in 2021. I like to solve problems. No task is too big or too small, and I am fortunate to be in an industry with plenty of data, analytical and mechanical problems to figure out.
