About Eric Haubruge

Doctor of Agricultural Sciences and Biological Engineering, Eric Haubruge is a Full Professor at the Faculty Gembloux Agro-Bio Tech (ULiege).He has supervised around 110 Master theses and around 30 Doctoral theses. Winner of a dozen scientific prizes and distinctions, he is the author of more than 300 scientific peer-reviewed publications. Co-founder of one of the first living labs dedicated to Culinary Science in Europe, the Smart Gastronomy he created the new laboratory of gastronomic Sciences in 2017 at the University of Liège. Eric Haubruge has been Advisor to the Rector in charge of Innovation and Regional Development at the University of Liege since 2018. Between 2009 and 2018, as Vice-Rector of the University of Liege, Eric Haubruge was in charge of education and regional development (especially the campuses of Gembloux and Arlon). In the field of education and training, Eric Haubruge attaches great importance to the development of training courses enabling skills to be acquired throughout life. He is the initiator and the current president of the new jobs and skills incubator within the Liège-Luxembourg academic cluster Eric Haubruge develops new learning methods but also new information and communication technologies to build a University of the future. In terms of innovation and research, as convinced that creativity coupled with innovation is an engine for the development of new economic models, Eric Haubruge was vice-president of the WSL startup incubator between 2016 and 2021.
