About Eric Herbst

Recent graduate composer specializing in game audio. Friends affectionately call me "The Wizard" I've worked on a multitude of game projects as a composer and sound designer, working with a range of implementation options from directly sending audio files to implementing the audio directly into the game with FMOD or Wwise. I've been playing Upright Bass for over 10 years, playing a wide variety of styles ranging from baroque and classical to jazz and world styles. My performing experience has greatly informed my compositional style, as working with various instrumentalists has taught me a great deal about how each instrument functions. I've worked as the in-house arranger for various groups, transposing parts for various instruments to work with non-standard ensembles for both classical and jazz styles. I specifically enjoy arranging videogame music on the side for personal study, both to know more about what makes the pieces great and to practice writing for new ensembles. Aside from composition I also work with voiceacting and dialogue editing, making short skits with friends to practice various character voices and short scripts.
