About Eric Hodgson

Hey, I'm Eric! I am currently in my third year at the University of Manitoba, working towards a Bachelor of Computer Science - Honours Co-op degree with a minor in Mathematics. I am exploring the world of software development, trying to get as much experience as possible through academics, self-teaching, and professional work. I am interested in every aspect of software development and honing my skills in all areas of development from front-end to database-focused work. I am particularly interested in backend/API development, using my math skills in combination with my programming knowledge to do some cool and challenging problem-solving. I am certainly a data-driven developer, and I like to use my strong analytical skills to find unique and creative ways to solve problems and come up with new features for the projects I participate in. My experience as a data analyst has taught me a lot about how to use data to my advantage and how important it is to get familiar with the code and data architecture during development. My experience as a manager has taught me valuable leadership skills, and how to perform under lots of pressure while managing a large team. I am extremely proud of my communication and leadership skills, and I believe they will help me find lots of success in the industry as I advance in my career. I am seeking my second internship work term, and am eager to get lots of hands-on experience in the field!
