About Eric Howden

My career thus far has been focused on experiential education and outdoor recreation. My current role as Site Director for Old World Wisconsin allows me to bring 30+ years of experience with hands-on learning and operations management into a realm that is new to me - Historic Living Museums.Since 1996 I have worked as a wilderness trip leader with Outward Bound and White Wilderness Dog Sledding Expeditions, as the Director/Manager of outdoor education programs (Loyola University Chicago, Aurora University-George Williams College, Appalachian Mountain Club), as a Director of Operations (Global Youth Leadership Institute) and as a classroom educator at the Associates, Bachelors and Graduate degree levels (Vermillion Community College, Aurora University, George Williams College). Through these varied experiences I have developed extensive experience at all levels of experiential education program facilitation, development and management.My professional goals involve continuing to work at the administrative level for an experiential education based programs that serves a broad spectrum of populations.I am also an active volunteer a a medical first responder with the National Ski Patrol (Alpine Valley Ski Area) and the Wisconsin Mountain Bike Patrol.
