About Eric Kwasnjuk

I believe in the wonderful energy of unexpected connections. I always wanted to complete my once abandoned education from two decades before, so when I heard about this Film School in Cape Town I was definitely intrigued. I researched and met with one of the founders, Garth Holmes and then returned to Philadelphia. I could have made myself forget that visit and continue with my life in the United States but a seed was planted that day I visited AFDA. I could not allow myself to let go. I began to own the idea that there was something beautiful I could learn at AFDA and I was intrigued by the way the school curriculum was implemented. It turned out to be the most positive learning experience of my life. I was nurtured and guided by the Dean and AFDA's teachers as I made my first documentary,"The Cape of Good Humor". This film chronicled my personal journey through years of personal struggles to finally reach the Mother Land of my ancestors. I wanted to know why South African's were so resilient in their own growth as individuals and as a nation. I chose the topic of humor. Researching the parallels of myself and how South African's embrace their joy through humor as a way to cope and to love. AFDA nourished my creativity in ways I never dreamed were possible. In 18 months I wrote, directed and acted in my first comedy Television Pilot."Who U Kiddin?". I acted in over 10 films. One film in particular made a wonderful impression on audiences,"Happy Earth Co". A story about entrapment in a free world. I received my BA in 18 months of education with another documentary titled,"The Cape of Lost Lullabies". This film explored the topic of separation and identity as seen through the eyes of street children. I recently relocated to Los Angeles and seeking to add my energy to some sort of project. Studying at Cinema Gym currently in Burbank and performing comedy at Comedy Store, Improv etc. Studied for 3 years at Playhouse West-Philly. I'm open to internships at either a casting office, studio, or assist beside a director on a set. I have a 100% commitment to joining forces in the entertainment business.
