About Eric Laurie

My educational and work experiences have given me a great interest in industrial process control, robotics and power electronics. As an Automation and Process Controls Engineer with BASF, I have firsthand experience with the many parts of process control systems. My exposure to PLC/ DCS at BASF led me to search out the relevant academic courses to control theory while pursuing my bachelor’s degree. I have found through my studies and work experience, control systems both theoretically and in practice fascinating. I have developed control systems from first principles and implemented custom controls for robotic systems based on the governing equations. I have worked with industrial control systems such as Siemens APACS, Emerson Delta-V, and Rockwell RSLogix in a process chemical manufacturing environment. I have experience managing projects budgets, schedule and scope coordinating with multiple parties to include; vendors, operations, supervisors, and personnel, simultaneously, and in accord for successful project completion. I enjoy working in my field and am always seeking to understand and implement the newest innovations and insure that the highest standards are met.
