Hi there! Thanks for dropping by. My name is Eric Lewis; I’m a proud dad and husband, lowly servant to a big goofball of a dog, and a music fanatic. Before becoming a communications professional, I was an award-winning journalist in my hometown of Moncton, New Brunswick. In my spare time, I hang out with my wife and daughter, listen to too much music, play guitar, read, and overthink. Here's the official version: Eric Lewis is an award-winning former journalist turned communications professional. As Senior Advisor, Media Relations at the Canadian Medical Association (CMA), he leads media relations efforts, ensuring the CMA maintains a strong national presence as a health advocacy organization. Eric joined the CMA following three+ years as communications manager with the New Brunswick Medical Society (NBMS). At the NBMS, he led all media relations, served as editor for the organization's quarterly member magazine and annual report and wrote all member- and public-facing correspondence. Eric helped build the NBMS into the leading health-care advocacy organization in New Brunswick and worked closely with the organization's President, Chief Executive Officer, and Chief of Physician and Patient Engagement on communications and media efforts. Eric previously held a similar position as communications specialist with Opportunities NB, a provincial Crown corporation. Prior to entering the communications field, Eric was a reporter and editor with the Times & Transcript daily newspaper where he routinely managed the news, lifestyle, and editorial desks. He was an integral part of the news team that won the 2014 National Newspaper Award for Local Reporting and 2014 Atlantic Journalism Award for Breaking/Spot News Reporting. He was also the recipient of the 2009 International Association of Assessing Officers Journalism Award, sharing that honour with a reporter from the Los Angeles Times.
