About Eric Leygues

Since 1989, I have had the opportunity to build an unusual and varied professional résumé. My career started in Marketing, where I conducted over 54 large studies for our agency based in the South Pacific. Over the next two decades, my career path and studies led me to a computer sciences environment in which I invested a lot of time and effort to standardize processes and design patterns, implement methodologies, and architect several large scale softwares and databases. Having the opportunity to establish a tight partnership with Microsoft, during their Chicago (Windows 95) and Memphis (Windows 98) projects, in order to define international standards and procedures was a huge highlight of my career and had an impact in defining the path I would follow. I consider designing the best user interface is critical and key to optimize training, in addition to keeping a tight control of projects and reduce maintenance cost and impacts. HMI and GUI are often underestimated, but they are almost as important as having perfect database structures in any organization or industry. In 1997, I made my way to the aviation industry, starting as a flight instructor before flying all over North America as an Airline pilot. And finally, I have spent the past 17 years as an IFR Air Traffic Controller. All these amazing experiences represent real assets when the time comes to teach specialists and to design robust and highly performing software-based IT solutions. As an aviation and IT consultant, I can not stress enough the importance of quality assurance and standards in our industries.
