U.S. Navy veteran working for the City of Virginia Beach as a Licensed Professional Engineer in the Planning Department’s Development Services Center (DSC) stormwater division. Specialty Experience: 6+ yrs experience modeling in EPA / PC SWMM; Prominent go-to plan reviewer for all SWMM projects in DSC-SW division. Reviewing all BMP types in Virginia Beach in CBPA, coastal, and southern rivers watersheds. Plan reviews for high profile projects such as multi-million dollar oceanfront hotel upgrades/new builds, multi-complex living structures, new school field turf installations, stormwater conveyance system upgrades (includes holding public predesign submittal meetings, comment review meetings during reviews, post construction reviews for field changes, and final walkthrough as-built analyses as needed). Coordinated reviews between geotech, surveying, environmental permitting, and construction administration on projects. Design plan reviews include all site plan creation requirements to follow City and State regulations for stormwater quality and quantity needs, including (but not limited to): design narrative report reviews of subcatchment delineations, VRRM verifications, modeling checks for HGLs, peak flow rates, spread calculations and volume calculations. Assure project plans meet applicable regulatory requirements. Advanced proficient skills in Microsoft Office Suite programs. Facilitate effective communications to public citizens/officials, designers, internal and external engineers and supervisors concerning project needs, status, design suggestions/guidance, and requested information. Organize training programs and Microsoft Teams documentation for internal establishment of file template coordination. Directed plan review of multiple projects simultaneously while planning and coordinating technicians work load responsibilities. Supervising (2) engineering technicians (includes: over-counter communications for engineering design questions, all as-built surveys, CGPs, engineering cost estimates). Experience working with VDOT and Hampton Roads Municipalities, City of Chesapeake, Hampton, Norfolk, Suffolk, & Virginia Beach Design projects; Government Contract experience. Previously was working as a SW & Infrastructure Design Project Engineer at Timmons Group. Oversaw full design and install of a $2 million SW pump station rebuild for City of Norfolk Tidewater Dr. underpass after hurricane Matthew flood destruction. Worked as a Transportation/Roadway & Civil Site design EIT at Woolpert and Bridge & Retaining wall designer with HDR.
