About Eric Lopez

As a Pest Control Advisor Trainee at Associates Insectary, I am pursuing my career aspirations of working in farm management, landscape management, or as a Pest Control Advisor (PCA). I have been working in this role for 1.5 years, gaining valuable experience and knowledge in pest management, crop protection, and integrated pest management (IPM) strategies. I have also developed strong communication and organization skills, as I collaborate with farmers, growers, and other professionals in the agricultural industry. I have a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Plant Sciences from California State Polytechnic University-Pomona, where I also worked as an Agriculturalist Concentrated in Specialty Crops for 7.5 years. During my academic and professional journey, I have participated in several opportunities to expand my network, learn from experts, and contribute to the community. I have attended two out of state conferences for Minorities in Agriculture Natural Resources and Related Science (MANRRS), toured the California State Capital building and met with politicians and lobbyists, volunteered for a Young Men's Leadership Conference in Fontana, California and worked with California Senator Connie M. Leyva, and toured BCBGMaxazria facility in downtown Los Angeles. I have also expressed my creativity and passion for art and culture by performing several dance compositions for a large audience of 500 people and donating hand made preemie and new born baby clothing to the Pomona Valley Hospital. I am motivated by my interest in agriculture, natural resources, and environmental sustainability, and I aim to become a certified and qualified Pest Control Advisor in the near future.
