About Eric Lucas

Employed by WSP Canada Inc. since 2008, I am currently leading the Earth and Environment sector for the province of Quebec. With a Bachelor of Environmental Science from Royal Roads University and a College Diploma in Integrated Environmental Planning from Selkirk College, I have been working in the environmental consulting field for 20 years. As a director since 2012, I have led multi-disciplinary teams to go above and beyond to achieve ambitious organic growth targets. Under my direct supervision, WSP has positioned itself as a leader in environmental consulting in the National Capital Region (Ottawa/Gatineau). Over the years, my team members have developed leading-edge expertise by participating in some of the most transformative projects in this region and in Canada, including the rehabilitation of the Centre Block (Canadian Parliament), the Confederation Line Extension (Ottawa Light Rail - Phase 2) and the Energy Services Modernization of the Federal Government. As a Project Manager, I have also led hundreds of projects requiring environmental assessments and ministerial authorizations subject to federal and provincial procedures. I have developed an expertise in the planning and authorization of residential, commercial and industrial developments. My ability to effectively assess environmental issues and propose economically viable solutions has helped me develop an excellent reputation with both my clients and the authorities with whom I regularly collaborate. In recent years, I have honed my leadership skills through short programs at the McGill Executive Institute and the Smith School of Business. I constantly strive to be an engaging leader and a good mentor to emerging leaders within our organization.
