About Eric Lundquist

My number one passion is music. I am a trumpet player, experienced in big band jazz, small-group jazz, wind ensemble, symphony orchestra, chamber music, pit orchestra, and popular music groups. I am currently serving as a Bandperson in the United States Army at the SHAPE International Band in Mons, Belgium. I have previously been assigned to the 77th Army Band in Fort Sill, OK and the Eighth Army Band at Camp Humphreys, Korea. In the Army bands, I have performed regularly in ceremonial and marching band, jazz big band, jazz combo, Dixie/brass band, brass quintet, and rock band, in addition to working as a Unit Public Affairs Representative. I graduated from Pacific Lutheran University in 2012 with a Bachelor of Music in Trumpet Performance and a minor in Computer Science. I have taken trumpet lessons from Jon Pugh, Darin Faul, Justin Emerich, Zach Lyman, and Brian Chin, and I studied jazz improvisation and arranging from Dr. David Deacon-Joyner at PLU. I performed freelance gigs in the Seattle area before enlisting in the United States Army as a trumpet player in 2014. Through high school, college, and the Army, I have performed at numerous international music festivals, including Essentially Ellington, the Montreux and Vienne Jazz Festivals, Jeju International Wind Ensemble Festival, Daegu Chimac Festival, and the Jinhae Gunhangjae (Cherry Blossom) Festival.
