About Eric Manne

Eric Manne has over twelve years of in-house legal experience at American International Group, Inc, over ten of which have been spent managing a large department that has totaled as many as twenty employees. During that time, he has handled a sophisticated, monetarily significant and varied commercial litigation docket in the U.S. and around the world, now as the senior litigator for the largest group of subsidiaries of one of the globe's most valuable insurance companies. His work also addresses high-level issues in other legal disciplines, including corporate governance, compliance, employment, mergers and acquisitions and regulatory. He manages an annual budget of over $20 million, and has found ways to slash literally millions of dollars from overhead and outside counsel spend through, among other things, aggressive use of alternative fee arrangements with outside counsel, and the creative use of offshore resources. He has gained significant experience dealing with AIG's accountants and auditors on disclosure and reserving issues. He frequently advises senior business leaders on transactional, regulatory and litigation issues. And, he designed an aggressive collections operation that has allowed AIG to increase its rate of recoveries, at greatly reduced rates.
