I am most passionate about driving meaningful innovation by combining technology and science to empower organizations, systems, and people. Areas of expertise and key accomplishments include: VISIONARY LEADERSHIP I systematically rally networks, organizations, and teams towards a shared and achievable vision of a future beyond expectation. I see the unseen and connect the disconnected. STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIPS AND GLOBAL NETWORKS I connect disparate organizations to enable collaborative learning and action by translating and building understanding and trust between cultures (e.g, geographic, societal, professional). I led a global strategic partnership between science museums, IBM, the world’s largest STEM and education professional organizations, and major media companies, to invite millions around the globe to actually experience science, as well as created strong, diverse networks to increase scientists' public engagement impact. SCIENCE EDUCATION & ENGAGEMENT I break down traditional barriers between schools, nonprofits, government, cultural institutions, and corporations, marshaling resources to improve education and increase effective engagement. I developed a school-based community network for IBM CEO’s $70M global Reinventing Education initiative and I partnered with TED to create the first science-only TED Conference, with 20 million viewers. SCIENCE & ENGINEERING I am a globally cited scientist and engineer with over 100 publications, presentations, book chapters, and patents on a wide range of topics from semiconductor contacts to science engagement. I am an electronic materials expert with extensive experience in materials processing, manufacturing and characterization techniques.
