About Eric McCray

As a Military Fellow to the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), I serve as a military advisor and liaison between senior leadership of the Department of Defense (DoD) and VA. I facilitate the collaboration of both parties to meet interagency agendas and strategic objectives primarily focused on the transition of service members and their families from military to civilian life and ensuring they receive the benefits that honor their service. I have been in this role since May 2022, and I bring over 13 years of experience as a Sergeant Major in the U.S. Army. In my previous roles as Army Senior Enlisted and Commandant at US Space Command and Command Sergeant Major at 94th Army Air and Missile Defense Command, I led and managed diverse teams of soldiers and civilians, oversaw complex operations and projects, and enhanced the readiness and performance of the units. I have developed and demonstrated skills in intelligence analysis, operational planning, weapons handling, tactics, command, and information assurance. I have also earned a master's degree in Business Organizational Management and several certifications from LinkedIn. I am passionate about supporting and empowering veterans and their families, and advancing the mission and vision of the VA and the DoD.
