About Eric Michiels

Officer in the Belgian Defense, I studied at the Royal Military Academy in Brussels. I started my career in the signals branch and later obtained a degree in computer science. Later I obtained a master in geopolitics I have a lot of experience in the operational branch, having been deployed in different operational theaters. I was fortunate enough to be the commander of a signal battalion, so managing people is not strange to me. As a project manager at the Directorate of Material Resources of the Belgian Ministry of Defense, I led the "Digitization of Land Forces" program for a few years. Looking for other challenges, I spent a few years at the Military Intelligence Service (SGRS), Intelligence Division. Today, I am a diplomat, defense attaché. After 4 years in the Gulf (Abu Dhabi, UAE), accredited to the Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar, Bahrain and Kuwait, I moved to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, accredited to Ethiopia, Kenya, Djibouti and the African Union.
