About Eric Moutz

I earned my J.D, cum laude, from the University of Michigan Law School and my B.A. summa cum laude, from Ohio Northern University. While at the University of Michigan, I was part of a team that won the United States national championship in the Jessup Moot Court Competition, won an award of excellence in the oral advocacy program, and was an assistant editor of the Michigan Journal of Law Reform. During law school, I also clerked for the Ohio Fifth District Court of Appeals in Canton, Ohio. After law school, I worked for two large international law firms where my practice focused on complex and high stakes litigation matters and internal investigations. I have handled a wide variety of litigation matters including contract disputes, partnership disputes, securities and fraud cases, construction defect cases, real estate disputes, and employment matters. In 2009 I opened by own law practice in Boulder, Colorado. While I have continued to focus on litigation, I have also expanded my practice to include contract drafting and negotiation, employment, strategic counseling, and general business law. Since 2009 I have served as outside counsel to companies ranging in size from small family businesses to publicly traded companies. I am regularly called upon to provide general counseling to small and midsize businesses on legal and business strategy, to negotiate deals, and to assist my clients in navigating complex regulatory issues and setting internal policy.
