Mr. Nelson has over 41 years of information technology and systems development experience, and specializes in IT strategic consulting and solution architecture. Currently Mr. Nelson is an associate with Excergy (providing strategic IT consulting and planning to North American utilities undergoing rapid technological transformation), and is a managing member of Rock Falls Consulting (providing IT strategy consulting to a variety of partners and SMB). Prior to his current work, Mr. Nelson was a Managing Principal with Synaptitude Consulting, an IT consulting company where he helped double the company's revenue, and delivered several CIO advisory projects. Previous experience includes Chief Development Officer at Alteritech, where he helped grow the company's revenues from $3M to $7.5M in three years. As SVP and CIO at Megapath Networks Mr. Nelson helped successfully complete a management turnaround. Previously, he was SVP and CIO of Netifice Communications, Inc; a next-generation managed IP services provider. He has also held two executive management positions with e.spire Communications, including head of ACSI NT Network Technology Solutions Division and VP of Strategic Systems. Earlier in his career, Mr. Nelson spent four years with Bell Atlantic and MFS Communications leading divisions in their Information Systems organizations. He also has 10 years of experience working in management consulting for renowned companies such as The Management Network Group (TMNG), Cap Gemini Sogeti, and Ernst and Young. Specialties: IT Strategy, M&A Due Diligence, Turnarounds (company and project), Business Development Executive in the SMB and Federal domains.
